Christophe Harbour is delighted to welcome three new faces to our Christophe Harbour family: Katherine Somoza, Director of Food and Beverage; Miguel Somoza, Food Production and Service Manager; and Christopher Warburton, SALT Plage Manager.

Director of Food & Beverage Katherine Somoza has more than 20 years of experience in managing restaurants, hotels, and resorts around the world.  At Christophe Harbour, Katherine plans, organizes, directs, and controls the food and beverage operations at SALT Plage, The Pavilion beach club, and Peppe’s kiosk in the Marina Village as well as all banquet operations.

Food Production and Service Manager Miguel Somoza is bringing his 20 years of experience to developing the Christophe Harbour bread and pastry offerings and evolving the quality of the offerings at Peppe’s Kiosk in the Marina Village. A classically trained pastry chef, Miguel has worked in some of the UK and Caribbean’s most notable and award-winning establishments.  Miguel is no stranger to Christophe Harbour. He led a professional development session with the culinary team last summer, where they worked to develop new bread recipes and techniques along with new dessert ideas.

Part of a memorable guest experience is the food, which was Miguel’s forté as the estate’s Executive Chef. Miguel enhanced the culinary experience by using only the freshest, local ingredients available.  He adds, “I created an environment and approach that focused on menu items derived from homegrown or locally sourced produce. That practice guaranteed a unique dining experience, and our guests really enjoyed it.” Miguel was also responsible for catering aboard the estate’s 68-foot yacht.

Prior to making the move to St. Kitts, the husband-wife Somoza team resided in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands, where they shared operational responsibility for the Present Valley Trunk Estate, an exclusive villa set on 19 acres of land. As the Deputy Manager of the estate, Katherine ran the day-to-day villa operations, ensuring that guests had the best experience possible. “An assertive attitude has enabled me to develop the skills needed to interact with both guests and other employees on a professional level,” Katherine says.

Rounding out the new team is Christopher Warburton, who joins Christophe Harbour as the new manager of SALT Plage as well as the crew recreational area and watersports facility next door. Originally from the United Kingdom, Chris has been in the Caribbean for the past nine years working as a general manager at various restaurants and bars in Grand Cayman, the British Virgin Islands, and Bermuda. While posted at Ascension Island during his six years with the Royal Air Force, Chris fell in love with the castaway lifestyle and moved to the Caribbean shortly after. Most recently, Chris managed The Last Resort in Tortola, which unfortunately was severely damaged during Hurricane Irma. Luckily for Christophe Harbour, Chris was available to move to St. Kitts and take over the management of SALT Plage. Chris describes himself as “adaptable with an in-depth understanding of the bar, restaurant and hospitality industry”.  His passion and attention to detail are a great fit for Christophe Harbour.

With their love for the Caribbean and a shared desire for excellence, Christophe Harbour and its guests can expect great things from Katherine, Miguel, and Christopher. Come see this trio in action at any of our dining outlets, including SALT Plage, The Pavilion beach club, and Peppe’s Coffee Kiosk.
