Lead Contractor Announced for Superyacht Marina Construction

By Katherine Verano in Marina, St. Kitts, Yachting

We are pleased to announce the appointment of American Bridge Company as lead contractor for construction of the Christophe Harbour superyacht marina on the Eastern Caribbean island of St. Kitts.

“This marina will be the heartbeat of Christophe Harbour and unlike anything that exists in the region today, so it was imperative that we find a firm who could deliver a final product that met not only our internal expectations, but also those of the yachting industry,” said Charles Darby, Christophe Harbour Director of Development. “We are very pleased to have American Bridge leading this project and look forward to a very fruitful partnership.”

Beginning next month, American Bridge will commence construction on the first phase of the superyacht marina, which includes more than 800 linear feet of bulkhead and the 24-slip “A” dock, which will accommodate superyachts up to 220 feet. Construction is expected to be complete late 2014, and the marina will welcome vessels in early 2015.

“We’re excited to be a part of this project and what we expect to be a long-term relationship with Christophe Harbour and The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis,” said Hank VanZuthem, Operations Manager at American Bridge. “We will utilize local resources and manpower to construct this state-of-the-art superyacht marina and look forward to establishing St. Kitts and Nevis as a leader in the yachting industry.”

The full-service marina and village with nightlife, dining, shops, and boutique accommodations will ensure Christophe Harbour’s status as a premier destination and a homeport experience unique to the region.
