Herlong Architects is an award-winning architecture and interior design firm with projects throughout the coastal United States, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean.  Having lived and worked in coastal communities for the past 30 years, designing homes for this lifestyle has become our specialty.  Our goal is always to maximize the benefits of living within nature while minimizing our impact on it, by designing sustainable homes engineered to survive the challenges of oceanfront exposure. Our Architectural firm as well as our Interior Designers understand this environment and can help blend your dreams with the unique design solutions, construction techniques and interior selections that are best equipped to make your home not only beautiful and livable but durable as well. 

In 2008, we were invited by Christophe Harbour to submit conceptual sketches for what would become the first homes here.  Our design was selected as the best representation of the lifestyle that is envisioned for Christophe Harbour.  We work very closely with the Design Review Board to ensure that our projects meet our client's wishes first, but also remain true to Christophe Harbour's commitment to creating a luxurious connection to the natural surroundings.  We appreciate their commitment to excellence and enjoy working in an environment where good design is both appreciated and encouraged.

We are extremely versed in the challenges of designing and building a home remotely and know that it takes strong leadership and communication to coordinate all of the moving parts that make these projects successful. This is why we offer a full range of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Interior Design services under one umbrella.  We also have an in-house structural engineer who has worked on all of our coastal projects.  Having everyone in one place; working together, helps avoid the kinds of issues that can typically plague an endeavor of this nature.  Whether you wish to be a hands-on participant or simply want someone to hand you the key when it's done, we have the team in place to make it all happen.
