Re-Dedication of Bradshaw Youth Center continues a vision
By Katherine in St. Kitts
The Rt. Excellent Sir Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw willed this building to the nation. In 1995 it was dedicated to its present cause of serving as a child care center. In keeping with Sir Bradshaw's vision, Dr. Denzil Douglas said, "I want to thank [Christophe Harbour] for the significant contribution that you have made to ensuring that the dream of our First national Hero is kept alive in the contribution in refubishing of this building."
The ceremony was doubly significant, as it marked the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Labour Party. In these eighty years St. Kitts and Nevis has shifted from an economy supported by agriculture to one supported by tourism and hospitality. Christophe Harbour is humbled to contribute to a vision so long in the making, and to support the efforts for the education of the Federation's youth.
