This past July, Club Member Greg Brown visited Sasanqua and tried our newest addition to the menu of services, the Escape to Kiawah Wrap. This treatment begins with a Japanese dry brush exfoliation that sloughs away dead skin cells and impurities. The body is then wrapped in a cocoon of heated aromatic body butter and finished with a 50-minute massage. Afterward, each client is given his or her own Japanese dry brush to continue the spa experience at home.

After his treatment, Greg recounted his experience and shed some light on why he thinks it’s good for a guy to let his guard down and experience the relaxing spa world.

Have you experienced a service with us before? “Aside from my monthly haircut with Pat Buck, I’d only had a single massage the year Sasanqua opened.”

Did you have any expectations going into the service? “I never dreamed I would have a body wrap ... what is a body wrap anyway? But wow, it was sensational!”

Did you feel comfortable at the beginning of your service? “Very much so. My service provider, Stacey, talked me through what to expect, which was important for a guy like me who isn’t used to this type of treatment. She was a real pro and most pleasant to talk to during the treatment.”

Were you satisfied with your spa service? Did you enjoy it? “On a 7-point satisfaction scale, where the top rating for overall satisfaction is ‘very satisfied,’ I cast my opinion in that top box. The 100-minute body wrap and massage was a truly relaxing experience. I strongly recommend this treatment to my fellow golfers, especially after a trying round. I guarantee you will not have any residual stress and aggravation, and that sore back will be just a memory!”

Any suggestions, comments, or recommendations? “I think Sasanqua needs to market these types of treatments to male golfers, highlighting the relaxing aspect and effect on the backaches, sore muscles, stiff necks, and tired legs. I don’t think pushing the idea of softer, smoother skin following this treatment will make headlines with men ... but improved golf games sure will.”
