Beach House Chef Lionel Garnier takes home silver medal in Chef of the Year Competition

Wednesday, October 28 at La Cucina restaurant, St. Kitts and Nevis Hotel and Tourism Association held competition for Chef of the Year. Each participating chef was presented a “mystery basket” containing mostly local produce and had two hours to create their culinary masterpiece for a panel of judges.

“The goals of this competition”, says Michael Head manager of the HTA, “are to raise the standards of Caribbean food excellence and professionalism, and to promote camaraderie and educational opportunities among chefs.”

Executive Chef Lionel Garnier of Christophe Harbour’s Beach House restaurant won the silver medal for his dish and was invited to be part of the St. Kitts’ Culinary Team. This team will go on to represent the federation next year at the Caribbean Hotel Association’s Taste of the Caribbean competition.
